A NEUROSURGEON accused over the cocaine deaths of two female escorts will remain behind bars, a judge ruling the case against him was weak – but his illicit drug addiction strong.
Suresh Surendranath Nair is facing a murder charge over the death of Brazilian national Suellen Domingues Zaupa, 22, in November last year, and a manslaughter charge for the death of Victoria McIntyre eight months earlier. Both women died in Nair’s Elizabeth Bay apartment from overdoses of cocaine allegedly supplied by the 42-year-old neurosurgeon.In a bail determination before Justice Megan Latham, the Supreme Court heard Nair has suffered from cocaine and sex addiction for many years, and has been under strict supervision from the Medical Board since mid-2004.
