A man found guilty of killing a Sydney prostitute has been sentenced to at least 21 years behind bars.
Malcolm Robert Potts stabbed Emma King to death in 2008 at his Ashfield unit.
He then stripped her naked and had sex with her.
The 42-year-old schizophrenic pleaded not guilty to murder, saying he acted in self defence.
But a jury rejected that.
Potts’ story was that he heard a voice in his head warning him to be careful of Emma King.
He then told her he had decided against having sex with her, and she got angry and picked up a knife.
Justice Kirby said she probably did pick up a knife, but he said he can not believe Potts was scared of her because he was twice her weight.
