Sydney Adult Entertainment: NRL demand names of punters who bet on Melbourne Storm for wooden spoon

The betting agency refused to reveal if it was placed in Sydney or Melbourne. Although it was an over-the-counter bet, the punter will be unable to remain anonymous, with the time of the bet recorded and the possibility they were captured on CCTV.
Cash transaction laws mean they must identify themselves when they collect their winnings.
NRL spokesman John Brady said it was the first time the NRL had made a formal approach to betting agencies for the identities of punters since they began putting in place integrity agreements three years ago.
“There have been concerns raised,” Mr Brady said.
The NRL code of conduct bans anyone associated with a club from betting on league.

Sydney’s most famous punter, brothel owner Eddie Hayson, said last night that he had not laid a bet on the Storm.
