Sydney Strip Clubs: Police investigate bar for bikie ties

Police are refusing to say whether bikies are behind an illegal bar in Sydney’s CBD where alcohol and possibly drugs were available.
Officers raided the York St venue on Monday afternoon where they unearthed a “fully stocked” bar containing about $20,000 worth of alcohol.
Superintendent Garry O’Dell says investigations are underway into what the premises were being used for.
However, he won’t comment on allegations they were being utilised as a Hells Angels clubhouse.
“We’re seeking to make inquiries with the owner and lease-holder as to what they’ve been using it for and what they’re licensed to use it for,” Supt O’Dell told reporters in Sydney on Tuesday.
Despite no drugs being found at the venue, he says “there may have been previous drug use on the premises”.

The hallway features red lighting and the space allegedly contains a pole used by strippers.

A shooting by police at a car filled with six Aboriginal joyriders as it drove along a footpath in Sydney has prompted accusations of racism and police brutality.
In an incident that has dominated media headlines, police shot both the 14-year-old driver and a 17-year-old front-seat passenger at the weekend.
The two youths remained in hospital in a serious condition on Tuesday. Malcolm Turnbull, a prominent Sydney-based MP, said the area on many nights was “effectively a war zone”.
Police said they had no choice but to shoot at the car after it hit a 29-year-old woman on the pavement at 4am in the Kings Cross area.
The four back-seat passengers, aged 24, 13, 14 and 16 were arrested and charged with driving in a stolen car.

CRIMINALS behind Sydney’s spate of gun crime will only be caught if the state government is prepared to offer cash rewards the Opposition warns.

A SENIOR Rebels bikie was charged with attempted murder after police investigating a spate of recent shootings across Sydney arrested two men yesterday.
Ricky Anthony Ciano, 31, of Bondi, was arrested in Parramatta over the shooting of Amer Tashman inside the packed Bada Bing strip club in Kings Cross on Monday.
Mr Tashman was shot in the shoulder as staff and patrons dived for cover.
Ciano, known to have extensive links on the Gold Coast, including to the Blush nightclub in the heart of Surfers Paradise, is also facing charges of possessing an unlicensed pistol.
Ciano declined to appear in Parramatta Court when his case was briefly mentioned before magistrate Vivien Swain. No plea was entered and his solicitor did not apply for bail.

So far this month there have been 11 shootings in Sydney.

More arrests after spate of shootings across Sydney
Police have arrested two more men over recent shootings in Sydney.
A suspected bikie from Bondi was charged yesterday with attempted murder over an incident at the Bada Bing strip club in Kings Cross. A 29-year-old man was shot in the shoulder at about 2am on Monday.
The victim, who is not thought to be involved with outlaw motorcycle gangs, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The alleged shooter was refused bail.
Superintendent Sue Waites said police did not believe the shooting was related to other recent gun crime in Sydney.

A 21-year-old man who is known to police was charged yesterday with intent to murder after a shooting at Guildford, in Sydney’s west.
…
In total, seven males have been arrested in relation to 11 shootings across Sydney since April 1.
