Police are refusing to say whether bikies are behind an illegal bar in Sydney’s CBD where alcohol and possibly drugs were available.
Officers raided the York St venue on Monday afternoon where they unearthed a “fully stocked” bar containing about $20,000 worth of alcohol.
Superintendent Garry O’Dell says investigations are underway into what the premises were being used for.
However, he won’t comment on allegations they were being utilised as a Hells Angels clubhouse.
“We’re seeking to make inquiries with the owner and lease-holder as to what they’ve been using it for and what they’re licensed to use it for,” Supt O’Dell told reporters in Sydney on Tuesday.
Despite no drugs being found at the venue, he says “there may have been previous drug use on the premises”.

The hallway features red lighting and the space allegedly contains a pole used by strippers.

Sydney Strip Clubs: The Top 10 LGBT Honeymoon Destinations
April 30, 2012
Las Vegas, the “sin city” that lures in everyone, whether it’s for the shows, the food, the opulence, or the gambling, has been making a huge push to welcome us queers for the past few years. Most of the major hotels and resorts are gay-friendly, and there are even some properties just for us gays. The Blue Moon Las Vegas has been a home away from home for gay men (exclusively) for years. Traditionally, the “gay scene” in Vegas has been focused around the area called “the Fruit Loop.” The Fruit Loop is located on Paradise Rd. near the Hard Rock Hotel. Krave, a staple in the gay Vegas nightclub scene, is the closest to the strip, right near Planet Hollywood. However, the excitement has shifted northwest, where a new nightclub, Share, has popped up. Located on Wynn Rd. between the Orleans and Palms Casinos, what makes Share unique is its male stripper license. (Oh, boy, I can see it now: Vegas is going to break our pink banks.) For gay and lesbian honeymooners, Las Vegas is sure to leave a lasting impression to remember forever. Just remember what they say: “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.”

A shooting by police at a car filled with six Aboriginal joyriders as it drove along a footpath in Sydney has prompted accusations of racism and police brutality.
In an incident that has dominated media headlines, police shot both the 14-year-old driver and a 17-year-old front-seat passenger at the weekend.
The two youths remained in hospital in a serious condition on Tuesday. Malcolm Turnbull, a prominent Sydney-based MP, said the area on many nights was “effectively a war zone”.
Police said they had no choice but to shoot at the car after it hit a 29-year-old woman on the pavement at 4am in the Kings Cross area.
The four back-seat passengers, aged 24, 13, 14 and 16 were arrested and charged with driving in a stolen car.

Sydney Strip Clubs: Barhop: The Roosevelt
April 23, 2012
Kings Cross may have had its soul ripped out and refashioned into yet another gentrified, yupified suburb, but let’s not talk about that. Let’s talk about a place that at least pays homage to the old-school sleaze that once ruled the Cross. Underworld boss Abe Saffron’s infamous nightclub is back. The legendary Roosevelt was once the most glamorous – and notorious – destination in the Cross, earning Saffron the names Mr Sin and the Boss of the Cross. It was a casualty of the clean-up of the area but Sven Almenning and his team, the people behind Darlinghurst cocktail bar Eau De Vie, have breathed new life into the underworld legend.
THIS IS A GENTLEMAN’S CLUB from a bygone era – glass doors, brass statues, dim light and bow-tied barmen. It’s so dark and seductive, I can’t read the fine print on the menu (now I feel old) but the furtive, elegant surrounds capture the grit and glamour of the Cross beautifu …
