Included in the auction are books so rare the only other known copies are held by public libraries. One of these, Charles Pickering’s 1870 compilation of photographs of Sydney buildings, comes with a cool $30,000 to $40,000 estimate. Several others are valued at above the $20,000 mark.

A feature of this book is the coloured aquatint view of Port Jackson and Sydney, along with four other aquatint plates and a folding coloured map. The upper estimate is $25,000.

Lot 160 is Thomas Shepherd’s bound copy of Lectures on the Horticulture of New South Wales, as delivered at the Mechanics’ School of Arts in Sydney. Published in 1835, this is considered the first Australian gardening book but the main selling point in this case is that it comes from the personal library of explorer Charles Sturt, with his stamp at the head of the title, then of John Ridley, the inventor of the stripper harvesting machine.

Pole Dancing Demo on the Grill Team!
The Grill Team 26 July, 2010 – 8:34 AM
The latest prize added to the Grill Team Man Cave is very controversial… A stripper pole!
Pole dancing is a new fitness craze, and leading Western Sydney instructor Suzy Q showed us a few of her killer moves on the pole this morning on the Grill Team.
No longer just the domain of exotic dancers, ladies everywhere are embracing the full-body workout of the pole dance.
But the latest prize poses a new question. Obviously, your average bloke will have difficulty getting much done on the pole, so can your girlfriend/wife intrude on the sacred space of the Man Cave, if she’s limber enough to give the pole a go?

Sydney men seek US penis doctor’s help

In 2004, he was arrested on allegations he was involved in the sale of diluted AIDS and cancer drugs, including through a strip club he co-owned. But in February, he entered a ”pre-trial diversion” program with the state of Florida and all charges pending against him were dismissed.

Until 2004, Dr Perito was the co-owner with his then business partner Nicholas Just of a strip club, Playpen South, in Florida.

A Florida state law enforcement agent, Gary Venema, said last week the prosecution elected not to pursue the case against Dr Perito after a key witness, a former strip club employee nicknamed Rocky, withdrew his co-operation because the state wouldn’t grant him a private investigator’s licence.

Mr ImMasche said Dr Perito was ”going through a bad phase” when he had become involved with the strip club.

Gerry Testa, another Sydney urological surgeon on whose patient Dr Perito operated, said he was not aware of the 2004 case.

… He was acting all holier than thou over me streaking yet he’s been secretly bedding porn stars and strippers for years.
“What I did didn’t harm anyone but he’s cheated and upset his wife and family.”
Tiger wasn’t the only person Jacqui upset with her steak. She fell out with mum Jackie – but the pair have since patched things up.
Jacqui said: “My mum knew I was a stripper but I think she was embarrassed that what I did meant everyone else knew.

“I’m never going to be ashamed of my streak or being a stripper. For me it was just a job – I loved pole-dancing, it was a show and I worked hard at my dancing.

“I think I must be the only stripper Tiger’s seen naked who he HASN’T had his wicked way with.”

In June 2008, I was fortunate to attend the U.S. Golf Open in San Diego with my son Alexander. On the third day we watched in awe as Tiger strode down the 17th fairway like Moses parting the Red Sea. In a vast semi-circle around him, but at a respectable distance, were at least 150 journalists with Woods, hobbling on a bad knee, in the middle. His second shot landed in the rough directly across from where we were standing.
Watching Tiger and the hoopla surrounding him is one of the great sights in sports. He stood awkwardly beside his ball and with a wedge chipped it out of the rough as hundreds of cameras clicked. The ball bounced once on the green and dropped straight into the hole. The crowd, my son and I included, went wild. Two days later, in a playoff round, he won the tournament.
Recently, Vanity Fair magazine documented Tiger’s sordid affairs. Reading the salacious details, the tales of secret rendezvous with strippers and porn stars, his insatiable sexual appetite, and the adolescent text messages, it is difficult to relate this to the image of the golfer I have seen play.

ST. ANDREWS, Scotland – When Tiger Woods, about to win his first British Open in 2000, drove off the 18th tee, he was all but enveloped by a sea of humanity. Embracing his imminent victory as if it were their own, a pack of celebrating Scotsmen several hundred strong followed the champion-to-be up the fairway, leaping the Swilcan Burn and pausing only to allow Tiger to hit his approach shot into the home green.
Woods had nearly reached the green when out of the spectators abruptly emerged a young lady wearing not a stitch of clothing. The woman made a rush at Tiger but was intercepted by security personnel well before she reached him. A few newspapers ran pictures the next morning. Most described her as a “streaker,” though she was actually an off-duty stripper from Aberdeen.cw0

We attended the premiere with writer Kathy Lette and her son Julius , who will soon be in Sydney for Stephen Fry ‘s two nights at the Opera House.

And I ran into Russell Brand , who was just back from Sydney and his latest film launch, who was lunching with ex-BBC TV boss and documentary maker Alan Yentob .

That’s where Madonna launched her kids’ books a few years ago for 500 of her closest showbiz friends (don’t know how we got invited back then but, of course, we went for the bragging rights). It was amazing to actually have a chat with Madge for a few minutes. She said she loved Sydney and asked me to send my love to “that guy in the cowboy hat” (I think she meant Molly Meldrum ).

Ah well, back to reality with a bump to chilly Sydney and putting my shorts away until it warms up a bit.
